As part of its development to make Instagram a place for creators to create a living and a brand to drive business objectives by tapping into new trends and audiences, Instagram unveils a marketplace for brands and influencers to connect through brand partnerships, commerce and more.
In short, Instagram’s new marketplace is a tool to help brands find creators they may want to connect with.
In October 2021, Instagram announced that they are testing a new set of tools for discovering and reaching out to creators in the US.
“To support creators monetizing on Instagram, we’re introducing a suite of new tools that help creators and brands connect and collaborate on Instagram through brand partnerships, commerce and more,” Instagram announced.
Last week, Instagram launched the new Creator Marketplace, Where Brands Can Discover Creators to Collaborate With.
“Instagram’s creator marketplace is a new destination that allows brands to find creators they may want to connect with. They can use the desktop experience within Meta Business Suite to filter creators by gender, age, number of followers and interests.” Instagram announced.
According to Instagram, brands can save creators on a list by filtering out creators who have expressed interest in working with them, have tagged them or follow based on the demographics of their engaged audience, using filters including gender, age, interests, country and city.
Instagram further explained, “After discovering potential creators for partnerships, brands can use the creator marketplace to create campaigns and structured projects to share with creators—outlining their campaign overview, the desired deliverables, compensation and any additional information related to the creator project.
Any messages brands send creators will land in a newly created Partnerships Messages inbox. Creators can respond to brands and coordinate with them directly within the Instagram app.”
Isn’t that exciting! We are looking forward to the expansion of the marketplace to other countries and the Sub-Saharan continent, which is still exploring influencer marketing.
In our next post, we will look at the benefits of the IG marketplace and how it has helped brands partner with each other.
